Good First Call
I just did an introductory call with Jim no very long ago. As he and I were introduced via one of my existing investors, the call seemed to be much more cordial than the normal "first call," with a VC. I found Jim to be insightful and refreshing. I'll post more as the process continues.

Looking for Opportunities, Not Teams
These guys look primarily at distressed situations, turnarounds, investor fatigue, etc. Their focus is on finding interesting situations rather than great teams that they will back through thick and thin. In our case, it seemed like they were looking to partner with the other VCs and the cap table, rather than the entrepreneurs behind the company. Keep that in mind as you talk to them.
