President and CEO
Mike Kwatinetz and the Azure guys are first rate. Mike K in particular is very bright, pays attention to details is tough but fair. He has been an investor in my company for sometime. He has been very patient and has been real value add. The firm while young has had some tremendous success. I would do another deal with them. Mike K is also the type of investor you would get into a fox hole with because he would have your back. I know that is a rare quality in vc's today.

Despite the "No New Investments Warning" which as been posted on this page, Azure is still in business.

They Do Their Homework
Azure was the lead investor in my last company. We met with them for over a year before they made an investment. They were very focused on our execution and really did their homework on the market and opportunity. Once on board they remained active and pushed hard on meeting plan. They are extremely supportive of the teams that they back and perhaps to a fault, are hesitant to make changes.

I am surprised by some of the negative comments and low(ish) rating. Paul Ferris just passed on a deal of mine (FWIW, a very early stage startup).

Azure Goes the Distance for Broad Light
My experience with Azure Capital has been extremely positive. Although I've met a range of guys there, I've mostly dealt with Paul Weinstein and Ray Carey who joined our series C and D rounds in 2004 and 2005. Probably the thing I like most about the Azure team is their analytical, reasoned approach to problem solving. I guess this must come from their background in investment banking at CSFB prior to forming Azure.

Chairman Rome Corp.
Azure Capital is a very well run, professional VC firm. The GP's backgrounds as Investment Bankers and Analysts have been augmented with strong levels of operational involvement across their portfolio. I've worked with them for over five years building ROME Corp. together, from concept through high growth. Both Cameron Lester and Mike Kwatinetz are board members, and have added tremendous value to the company.

In the past I've worked with Cameron Lester and the firm in general. They are one of the more thoughtful in their investments and more involved in their portfolio companies. The management team has extraordinary operating experience and supports it CEOs from a balanced perspective. They were also involved in a recap with us that was not for the faint of heart - and Azure was by our side every step of the way. I would not hesitate to work with them again.

Azure Works for Vapps
I have to disagree with most of the negative comments about this fund. I have been in contact with a number of VC's over my last two companies and the team at Azure (full disclosure, they recently funded us) has been excellent to work with. They took the time to do the research on our business and our market, made the calls to our references and partners, asked all the right questions and when the going got tough, continued to ask the right questions and not get negative.

Pulled a Deal
I experienced Azure doing something top VC's just don't do often. They went to termsheet very quickly and then pulled the deal when we were pushing them to move. Top firms offered new termsheets in the next 60 days, so the business was not damaged, but this is investment banker behavior not quality venture behavior.

Early Stage, Long Term
I've had great experience with Azure over the last few years. Cameron Lester is a great partner in building a business -- constructive, value add, excellent connections that the firm is willing to put to work for portfolio companies. A couple of things really set Azure apart as a partner....

One of the more unjustifiably arrogant VCs in the Valley. Definitely not worth a visit.

Unsure about Azure
I have no I idea why these guys cold-called us for a meeting, acting really interested. It was a total waste of time: they were likely doing market studies for another investment. Don't listen to what they say, but look at their track record -- if you don't fit the profile then don't get lured into a meeting. They're followers, not leaders.
