Form Over Function
I pitched to the six-person selection committee as part of their vetting process prior to inviting presenters to their general membership. Though polite, only one of the members of the committee had reviewed the read-ahead material on our deal. Their understanding of our deal was basic at best and we spent valuable time covering simple concepts that were front and center in the material. Despite following up with them directly as to my dissatisfaction with their preparedness, they invited me to present to their general membership. I declined.
