Gil Dibner
I have to give a lot of credit to Gil Dibner.
He's one of the few persons we met from the VC industry that quickly understood what our business is all about and its potential.
His attitude was always positive and constructive, spent a lot of energy meeting with us and giving suggestions and also was honest enough to tell us when things went sour with the VC.

Great Fund, Greater People...
Genesis is one of the leading VC's in Israel.
I had the pleasure of working with them for a very long period of time and I just enjoyed every minute.
The level of the professional team is outstanding, from the administrative assistants in the lobby to the most senior partner - a real class act which is often missing in the Israeli panorama.
I think all and all the people composition in Genesis is truly remarkable, I have had the chance to talk to most of them and most of them left a very positive impression.
I would like to point out 3 different individuals and address them personally.

Gil Dibner Will Waste Your Time
Met the guy, he's approaching almost every new company in Israel. He will waste your time asking irrelevant questions, don't get excited when he calls..

Honest, No Dragging
We pitched Eddy and got turned down after a couple of weeks of due diligence. They did not drag us and gave a solid explanation - can't ask for more.

Watch Out
These guys have a reputation for sticking it to their management teams. If only they were half as smart as they think they are. Check with executives that have worked with them before getting too deep.

Gil Dibner
Out of all the VC's in Israel I have pitched to, Gil definitely is one of the most knowledgeable about the Social Networking Space. He asked the right (hard) questions, made the right conclusions and gave us valuable feedback both on the technology as well as the funding side of the equation. The entire management team felt his inputs were very beneficial to the company. When he informed us that we are a bit "early" for them he spent time (almost 30 minutes on the phone!) explaining in detail what they will need to see in order to move forward and then proceeded to introduce us to numerous people who could fill in the gaps to make us more "fundable". While they did not fund us yet (and I don't know that they will) our time spent with Gil was worth its weight in Gold - he should provide lessons to the other VC's as to how to really add value beyond the money that they bring to the table. I am certain that anyone who has the good fortune of having Gil on their board will be 10X closer to success thanks to his insights, contacts and dedication to the people he works with.

Gil always found the way to ask the right questions, and was helpful and constructive.

Gil Dibner
We had a totally different experience pitching Genesis. Gil joined in to a meeting with Eyal Kishon. He championed the due diligence in a professional manner and was enthusiastic about the company. During the DD he had put us in contact with potential customers and provided valuable information and shared his findings. Although Genesis investment did not materialized from other reasons, his involvement was positive, professional and respectful. I can not support those claims altogether, it sounds to me like a different person.

Fishing Anyone?
I believe these guys think they want to be players in the technology/internet space, but they aren't visionaries - they are fisherman - hoping enough entreprenuers can teach them about the industry so they can do something (but most likely won't).

They Think You Work for Them
They have no problem to run you around, writing, collecting and sending them materials while they don't have the decency to even go and read your website or do some homework before they tell you "we are VERY interested"...
