Illinois Ventures: Slow, Somewhat Unprofessional
Let's face it, there are not many choices in the Midwest for seed/angel rounds, so one cannot be too picky. Still, if you have other options, Illinois Ventures should not be your first pick. We found them pretty slow to respond, and somewhat unprofessional in their conduct. We got funded elsewhere. FYI, they focus on black box type IT coming right out of the University, where they might have an advantage on folks that don't know much about valuations, etc.
