Good Guys
I worked closely with Bob Smith and Brad Woloson on a few companies in the past few years. I have also met all their partners. I found them to be knowledgeable, professional and very helpful. The fact that they focus on software investments allows them to add real value. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to any software company regardless of the stage.

Unethical Move by Peter Arrowsmith
Peter Arrowsmith has no qualms forwarding data submitted confidentiality to him with 3rd parties. Beware of sending him any key IP or financial data. Have an NDA in place beforehand with JMI (or consider walking away).

Classy, Smart Guys, but We Were Not the Right Fit
We pitched JMI San Diego. Peter Arrowsmith and team were polite, classy, thoughtful and smart. They indicated they really liked the plan, the success so far, and the team. The only problem was that we weren't big enough yet-- they really were looking for slightly later stage companies, closer to positive cash flow.

Good Software Competency
I have pitched the San Diego JMI office a couple times in the past and have hig marks for the team. Pete Arrowsmith is very sharp and well versed in software and was very reasonable and thorough in the process

Previous Experiences with Jmi
JMI invested in my last company multiple times between 2000 and 2004. We had a good experience with GP Brad Woloson. Brad is a excellent technology guy with a true passion for innovation.

Competitive Fishing
Got a call not too long ago from David Greenberg, and associate at JMI. He did the whole, "I've heard great things about your company" act, but since JMI is invested in our main competitor, it was pretty clear that he was doing crass competitive research. Very unprofessional.
